Basket Filters

Glando Basket filter is manufactured in simplex and duplex type construction with suitable material. Duplex Basket Filter provide ease of cleaning the element without interruption of the process. Two simplex basket filters connected with a pair of three way ball valve with a common single handle makes a this type of filter. By rotating this common handle flow is diverted from filter in operation to the standby idle filter.

The clogged filter element can be cleaned and made ready for next change over. Simplex/ Duplex type Industrial Filters are available in fabricated and cast construction. Simplex type filters in cast construction are called pot strainers or bucket type Industrial Strainers. Filters are manufactured up to diameter of 48” NB size and filtration down up to 5 micron. Low press drop, large dirt holding capacity, ease & low cost of maintenance are some special features of Glandofilters.

Basket filters are the low cost answer to a variety of liquid clarification needs. The basic filter is floor-mounted, in-line pressure vessel consisting of a tubular housing in which the filter media is supported by a 316 stainless steel basket.

Industrial Filters are offered in separate models with flow rate up to 250 gpm. filters consist of two single filter units connected in parallel to 3-way valves. filters are usually rated for the same flow as single filters. That's because in most applications one filter unit is valved off stream while the other continuous filtering.

Self Cleaning filters

Self cleaning filters are available in some standard models to choose from for different flow rates. They are also designed & fabricated as per requirement. Size manufactured is up to 6” NB and below and filtration achieved is down to 40 micron. Element of self cleaning filters can be cleaned by one rotation of outside handle or knob. The dirt over the surface of element is brushed down by scraper blade & collected at bottom and can be drained out.

Automatic Self-Cleaning Filters are manufactured with assembly of motor & gear to rotate the filters element for continuous cleaning. The element of self cleaning filters has very high mechanical strength and can with stand a very high differential pressure & ease of cleaning element are some special feature. This type of filter is suitable for most liquids with suitable material of construction.

Industrial Filters "Self Cleaning Filter" employs Welded Wedge Wire Candles as filter media, which offers  the unique feature of back washing of the filter media through the automated PLC & timer circuit, guarantees uninterrupted filtration using the same filtrate solution.

The fluid to be filtered flows via two ends into the inside of the non-clogging Welded Wedge Wire candles with inverted radial construction. In this way the solid particles to be filtered out are retained over the whole length of the inside of candles so that full filtering area is uniformly used. As compared to filtration operation the back-flushing time is only few seconds.

Working Principle In pressure sand filter raw water flows down wards through the Industrial Filter bed and as the suspended matter- which has usually been treated by addition of a coagulant like alum- is retained on the sand surface and between the sand grains immediately below the surface.

There is steady rise in the loss of head as the filter process continues and the flow reduces once the pressure drop across the Industrial Filters is excessive. The filter is now taken out of service and cleaning of the filter is effected by flow reversal. To assist in cleaning the bed, the backwash operation is often preceded by air agitation through the under drain system. The process of air scouring agitates the sand with a scrubbing action, which loosens the intercepted particles. The filter is now ready to be put back into service.

These unique features reduce backwash head requirements, improve backwash distribution characteristics, and achieve efficient backwash cycles. Each tank is manufactured by ASME Code certi?ed welders from Type 316L stainless steel, a material which is specially fashioned to offer superior protection against corrosion in chloride environments.

The result is a product that is virtually indestructible and perfectly suited to commercial swimming applications, insuring many years of reliable service. Our largest standard units have more than 500 square feet of filtering area, and can reliably supply plants that treat from 1 to 25 million gallons per day. Our horizontal multi-cell designs partition the unit to form individual filter cells. They can often be used as a cost-effective substitute to multiple vertical units. The filters are economically fabricated using optimum design parameters in accordance with ASME or BS standards. Slow and rapid filter rate is being implemented depending on the application. Industrial Filters are fully shop assembled and skid mounted. Filters operation can be automatic and manual. Horizontal filters are designed using capacity up to 400m3/hr.
